Wayne F.
Bushonville, 70, originally from
Kenosha,
WI,
but most recently a snowbird from
Door
County
wintering in
Zephyrhills,
FL,
passed away on
March 21,
2018,
surrounded by family and friends during his last days.
He was born
in
Kenosha
on
February
12, 1948
to the late Anne and Fred Bushonville. He attended
St.
George
Grade
School
and graduated from
St. Joseph
High School
in 1967.
Wayne
served his country in the U.S. Army from March 1968 to November 1970,
including a tour of duty in
Vietnam.
When he resumed his civilian life, he returned to work at
OMC
in
Waukegan,
IL,
where he worked for 34 years until they closed their doors in 2001. He
then worked at West Marine while he completed the building of his
38-foot sailing catamaran that launched in 2002. Once he set sail,
he split his time living summers in
Door County,
WI
and sailing to the
Bahamas
for his winters. While in
Door
County,
he worked with the Weborgs as a commercial fisherman until he met and
married Beth Kausalik in 2007.
Wayne was
very much a nature enthusiast and enjoyed working as a guide with the
Audubon Society in the mountains of Wyoming. He was also a scuba
diving instructor and took many trips to
Door
County
and the
Bahamas
on diving excursions. He also enjoyed deer hunting, both gun and
bow, sport fishing, and lots of hiking.
He is
survived by his wife, Beth (Kausalik), daughter, Jamie Berg, and
granddaughter, Ava. He is also survived by his sister, Geraldine
Weber (Richard) of
Winter Park,
FL,
and his brother, Gary, of
Altamonte
Springs,
FL,
his four nieces and their children.
A celebration of life was held on March 25th with his Zephyr
Palms RV Park "family" in
Zephyrhills,
FL.
Wayne
will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
