Raymond J. Elfering, was born in Kenosha on October 25, 1948, the son of Felix and Irene (Nowitzke) Elfering.

He attended St. Mary's Grade School and graduated from St. Joseph's High School in 1967 and earned a nursing degree from UW-Parkside.  He was a nurse at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee.

Survivors include his mother, Irene, of Kenosha; one brother, Daniel Elfering, of Elwood, Indiana; a niece and nephew, Angela and Anthony Corridini, of Kenosha.

He was preceded in death by his father, Felix, in 1988; a sister, Sharon Lee Corridini, in 1993.

Ray died on March 28, 2005, at his residence.  He was 56 years old.
