Richard J.
Scuglik, 62, of Deerbrook, Wis., died on June 14, 2012, at the Aspirus
Wausau Hospital.
He was born on
Sept. 17, 1949, in Kenosha, Wis., to Joseph and Bernice (Burdick)
Scuglik. Dick attended schools in Kenosha, graduating from St. Joseph
High School in 1967. He then received his undergraduate degree from the
UW-Whitewater. He continued his schooling at the UW-Stevens Point where
he received a Masters degree in communications. He and his family moved
to Rhinelander in 1987 where Dick was employed by Nicolet College. He
taught computer programming and more recently home technology. He was
always busy.
Besides his
teaching, he was involved in other business ventures through the years
that he had started. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed all the
northwoods had to offer, especially golf and fishing.
In earlier years
he was an avid motorcyclist who enjoyed many cross country trips with
friends. He was a past member of the Rhinelander Lion's Club and he was
not afraid to try new things, hence the painting and recent wine making.
He married
Kimberley Schey on June 26, 2004.
Dick is survived
by his wife, Kimberley of Deerbrook; his son, Jason of Milwaukee, Wis.;
his father, Joseph of Kenosha; his sister, Joyce (Kelly) Infusino of
Kenosha; two brothers, James (Betsy) of Kenosha and Edward (Deborah) of
Neenah, Wis.; nieces, nephews and many friends. He was preceded in death
by his daughter, Andrea and his mother, Bernice.
Visitation for
Dick will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. with funeral services following at
3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012, all at the Carlson Funeral Home.
The Reverend Kari
Vadis will officiate. Cancer research was a passion of Dick's and a
memorial is being established for that purpose. Any memorials may be
directed to his family.
